Found out the writer of my go-to comic has some real-life drama, now I'm stuck

Part of me wants to keep reading for the story, but another part feels icky supporting them, so what would you do?

The writer bullied fans? Tbh, I'd drop the comic right away.

Yeah I've been there too. My whole bookshelf is full of authors who were probably terrible people, but I still love their work. It's like finding out your favorite chef never washes his hands, but you still crave the pasta. Personally I try to separate the art from the artist, but man it gets harder the worse the drama is. What's the comic, if you don't mind me asking?

Totally get that. The chef analogy is perfect because it feels so personal. For me it's less about the artist being bad and more about how the art itself changes once you know. Like a song about love hits different when you find out the singer was abusive. The good stuff starts to taste like guilt.
