My French press carafe shattered during my morning brew last Tuesday

I was pouring hot water over the grounds and the whole bottom just gave out, sending coffee and glass everywhere. Anyone have a good recommendation for a durable replacement that won't break the bank?

I had a Bodum press do the exact same thing a few years back. I mean, it's usually from the temperature shock when you pour the water in. I switched to a stainless steel French press and it's been solid. You can find them for like 30 bucks and you don't have to worry about glass at all. Maybe it's just me but I feel like they keep the coffee hotter longer too.

Yeah, that temperature shock is a real killer. I had the same thing happen with a cheap glass press, just like @oliver_torres4 said. Switched to a double wall stainless one years ago and it's a total game changer. Not just for not breaking, but you're right, the coffee really does stay hot way longer. It's the only way to go if you don't want to rush your cup.
