I finally told my friend his 'good' coffee is just burnt beans
He said 'it's just coffee, man' while handing me a cup of his grocery store dark roast, and that casual dismissal of the whole craft is what made me realize some people will NEVER get it, so what's the point in even trying to share a great single-origin with someone like that?

My buddy spent weeks finding this amazing local roaster, brought a bag to his brother's house. The guy just dumped a huge spoon of it into a drip machine and boiled it for ten minutes. Sometimes you just have to accept that people enjoy what they enjoy, and save the good stuff for yourself.

Honestly though, is it that big a deal? The brother probably just wanted a cup of coffee, not a tasting event. Good beans can survive a bad brew anyway.
