Bought a $200 Mitutoyo caliper and it got coolant logged in 2 weeks...

I thought spending the extra cash on a nicer brand would save me hassle but the display started flickering after coolant got inside the housing. My $40 Chinese one never had that problem. Anyone else had name brand tools fail faster than the cheap stuff?

Gotta call you out on this one man. You probably just got a lemon or didn't seal it right after use. My Mitutoyos have taken way more abuse than any cheap caliper and still read perfect after years.

@andrew_wood72 I get your point but sometimes the cheap ones just work better in wet conditions.
