Why does nobody talk about the time it takes to find a good compost bin?
I wanted to cut down on food waste at my apartment in Denver, but finding a small, odor-free bin that my landlord would allow took me over a month of searching online and in stores. I finally got a simple metal one with a charcoal filter, but the whole process was way more complicated than I expected. What's a good indoor compost setup for a small space that doesn't smell?

Actually, paper bags can make the smell worse if they get damp inside. A metal bin with a filter is a better move for keeping things dry and odor-free.

Right? That "over a month of searching" part is so real. I use a ceramic countertop bin with a tight lid, and I line it with those paper compost bags. The key is taking it out every other day, even if it's not full. I keep a bigger lidded bucket on my balcony for the actual drop off, so the small one inside never gets funky.
