Had a chat with my neighbor about his compost pile last Saturday
He mentioned he just throws everything in including citrus and onions and it breaks down fine, so now I'm wondering if I've been overcomplicating my own pile for the last 3 years.

Oh yeah the "tossing everything in" method is a game changer, @the_phoenix. But I gotta gently push back on something you said about overthinking. I still catch myself doing the overthinking thing even when I'm tossing stuff in. It's like my brain won't let go of the need to organize everything just right. But honestly I've learned that half the time the stuff you toss in ends up working out better than the stuff you planned out for hours. So you're def on the right track lol.
