Shoutout to the old timer at the supply house in Tacoma

I was picking up a roll of pad and he asked if I still used a knee kicker for small rooms. When I said yes, he just shook his head and said, 'Kid, a power stretcher isn't just for big spaces, it's for every space.' He showed me a trick with the head placement on a 10x12 that I'd never tried. Has anyone else completely switched off the kicker for good?

My boss made me switch to a power stretcher full time three years ago. He said knee kickers cause more callbacks for restretches. I fought it at first for hallways and closets. But he was right, the tension is just more even. What was the exact trick the old guy showed you with the head placement?

He'd tap the head twice after locking it... just a little bump to settle the teeth in the carpet.
