Pro tip: use a knee kicker for tight spots, not your body weight
Spent 3 years humping carpet with my knees and lower back. Wrecked me. Last month I finally learned to angle the kicker right and let it do the work. Short little jabs, not one big shove. Anyone else get taught the wrong way by their first boss?

Wow, three years of that? Your first boss definitely did you dirty. I can't believe they let you wreck your body like that instead of showing you the right angle from day one. Knee kickers really are a gift from heaven once you figure them out.

Walked into my first carpet job thinking I knew what I was doing. Took me about two weeks to realize my back was not built for leaning over a stretcher that was set up wrong. My knees still make a sound like stepping on dry leaves when I get out of bed. @vera_sanchez you're right about the kicker though, once I figured out how to use it right I felt like an idiot for fighting that old metal bar for months.
