I used to think those little seam rollers were a waste of money for a pro.

My boss made me use one on a commercial job in a hotel lobby last month, and I mean, the seams on that patterned berber were basically invisible after. What other small tools do you guys actually swear by that seemed dumb at first?

My uncle, who's been laying floors for thirty years, always made fun of knee kickers. He called them a crutch. Then he had to do a huge hallway with a stubborn pad, and he borrowed one from a guy on site. He bought his own the next week. Sometimes the old school guys are the last to see it.

Right? Felt the same way about those corner tuckers for vinyl. Looked like a gimmick until I tried one, now I won't do a bathroom without it.
