Noticed a neighbor's coax junction box was completely upside down

And here I thought my terrible decision to install my own cable box was the only thing making my internet drop out every time it drizzles. Guess I should have read the manual instead of just pointing the connectors wherever felt right, which in my case was basically at the sky. Now every rainstorm probably turns my cable box into a little birdbath, and I've been blaming the squirrels this whole time. At least now I know why my Zoom calls sound like I'm calling in from a submarine.

Blew $60 on a fiction writing prompt deck from Etsy that just gives me plot holes

Oh man, a vampire running a vegan bakery that's kind of funny though, not gonna lie. But a sunbeam as a love interest that's just lazy writing, that's not a plot hole that's a whole plot crater. I mean were you really expecting coherent worldbuilding from a deck of cards someone probably made in their dorm room? If the prompt says the sunbeam is allergic to moonlight I'd say you got your money's worth in pure absurdity.

Talked to a librarian about my messy weekly spreads and it kinda wrecked me

Haven't you ever had that moment where someone says something so simple it just cuts through all the noise? I was at a coffee shop years ago and this older gentleman saw me flipping through my planner with all its little drawings and color coded sections. He just shook his head and said "I use a pocket calendar from the drugstore with a single pen. If it takes more than ten seconds to write something down, you're doing it wrong." I sat there thinking about the hours I spent making headers and borders that nobody would ever see. He was right in a way but I still like the pretty stuff, just not as much anymore.

Finally got the hang of pouring aluminum without getting a ton of dross in the mold

Ladle packing from the bottom works great, but you gotta make sure you're not just skimming the top and calling it done. If you really want to cut down on dross, try heating your ladle up before you dip it in. A cold ladle can suck in some of that stuff and mess up your pour. Also, keep your pour steady but not too slow. Going slow can actually let air get in and cause more dross on the surface. I started preheating my tools and it made a bigger difference than I thought it would.

Had a talk with a builder that changed how I look at seams

Checking stretch direction" - that's the golden nugget right there. Most people don't think past the tape.
