Warning: don't trust those cheap lens spanner wrenches from the online marketplace
I tried one of those $15 generic spanners on a stuck Nikon 50mm f/1.8D helicoid and it just flexed, nearly stripping the slots. Switched to a proper, solid steel one from a real tool supplier, cost me about $60, and it worked perfectly on the first try. The difference in metal thickness and heat treatment is night and day. Anyone have a go-to brand for these that won't bend on you?

Ever try to open a jar with a wet noodle? That's what using those cheap spanners feels like.

Ugh, tell me about it. I swear they bend if you look at them wrong.
