That comment would get under my skin too. Funny how a single offhand remark can completely change your process. Had a similar thing happen years ago with a picture frame, someone said the corner looked "store bought" and it ruined my whole week. Ended up ditching the method I was using for something way more complicated, just to prove a point to myself. Sometimes that sting is the best push to get better, even if the customer had no idea they were giving a critique.
