My washing machine died and I fixed it with a $12 part
Last Tuesday my washer stopped spinning mid-cycle with a loud grinding noise. I was about to call a repair guy who quoted me $150 just to come out. Instead I watched a 20 minute YouTube video and found out the rotor was cracked. Ordered a new one for $12 on Amazon and swapped it out in an hour. Saved myself probably $300 total and honestly felt pretty good about it. Has anyone else had a major appliance fail and fixed it way cheaper than expected?

Is the warranty void if you fix it yourself?

Doubt it. A repair guy will still take your money and your warranty's basically gone anyway.
