Hit $50 in airport parking fees on a 4 day trip and it wrecked my whole budget

I thought I was saving by booking a cheap flight to Chicago last month, but I parked at the economy lot for 4 days and the $12.50 a day fee added up to $50, which was more than I spent on two nights of hostels, and now I'm wondering if there's a better way to get to the airport without getting rinsed on parking has anyone found a secret spot near O'Hare?

Cheap flight to Chicago" and then $50 for parking - that one got me. You spent more on leaving your car somewhere than on two nights of a place to sleep, that's just wrong. I usually take the Blue Line from Rosemont when I fly out of O'Hare, it's way less than that and you don't have to stress about the lot.

@abby_kim55 that "leaving your car somewhere" line hit me right in the wallet. I took the Blue Line from Rosemont last trip and saved like $40 plus zero stress about walking back to a dead battery. Seriously just park at a Rosemont garage for $10 a day and ride the train one stop, it's a no brainer.
