PSA: Don't waste money on those 'premium' anime streaming box sets

Three months for a refund? That's insane. I can't believe they made him wait that long when the product was literally damaged on arrival. The paper sleeves scratching the discs thing is so common too, it's like they didn't even test the packaging before shipping it out. I'd be so mad if I dropped $150 on something that showed up looking like it got kicked down a flight of stairs.

Can we talk about how forced themes ruin book club chats?

Our club did "To Kill a Mockingbird" last spring and we split it into two nights. First night we stuck pretty close to the book club questions about the trial and racism stuff. It was good, everyone got the main points. Second night we just let it go wherever, and someone brought up how Scout and Jem didn't really have a mom. That opened up a whole conversation about how kids deal with missing parents and what it does to them. The best part of that second night was when we started comparing it to our own childhoods, like how we felt when we lost someone close. So I think having that first night for the facts and then a looser second night for the personal stuff really worked for us. It got everyone talking way more than just sticking to the guide all the time.

My decision to use a torque wrench on every fastener even when the old timers said I was wasting time

My buddy Dave used to work at a Cessna dealer down in Phoenix, and he was the same way with torque wrenches on all the little stuff. His lead mechanic told him he was being too slow and costing them time. Then a year later, they had to strip an entire 172 interior because the previous installer had cranked down every screw until the plastic cracked. Dave's work was the only section that didn't need redoing, and the shop manager started backing him up after that. So yeah, you're not alone in thinking the manual is the right way to go.

Hit 50,000 miles on my old pickup yesterday and something felt off

Marketing has definitely pushed that high mileage fear BIG TIME.

Guy at the supply house told me my post holes were too wide...

Go with the bigger holes. You want that fence to survive a storm right? Saving 3 bags is cool but not if you gotta redo the whole thing later. A little extra concrete now beats a blown over fence next spring.
