My book club almost broke up over a main character's move
We read 'The Silent Patient' last week and talked about the big reveal. Half the group felt cheated by the twist, the other half loved it. I was in the middle, but things got loud real fast. Someone even left the chat early. It showed me how deep book talks can go. What's the wildest debate your club has had? How do you handle when people get mad?

Wasn't that twist more in the middle of the book, not the end?

...and then @kai818, you're so right about people getting loud over fictional stuff. My group once had a full-blown shouting match over whether a character should have taken the train or the bus in chapter two. No joke, someone brought up public transit statistics from 1970 to prove their point. We didn't talk for a week after that one.
