Blew $60 on a Kickstarter board game that never shipped - check the creator's history first

Waited a full year for a board game I backed on Kickstarter, just to get an empty box with a note saying "sorry, ran out of funds." Now I always do a quick search on Kicktraq before backing anything. It shows you a creator's history and how their past campaigns actually ended up. Saved me from a few more duds since then, just takes a couple minutes.

Yeah the "ran out of funds" thing is a classic. I think @the_jordan nailed it with checking the creator's past campaigns first because that empty box story is brutal. The thing people dont get is that Kickstarter lets creators run multiple projects without finishing any of them. I always dig into the comments on their older campaigns too. If you see a pattern of people yelling for refunds or waiting years for updates, run. A couple minutes of research beats losing sixty bucks every time.
