Everyone says delete the apps, but hiding them in a folder on page 4 of my phone worked better for me
Three years ago I deleted every social app off my phone cold turkey and within 5 days I had redownloaded all of them plus two more I had never even used. Then a guy I work with in Phoenix told me he just buries the apps in a folder on the last page of his home screen and turns off every badge, so I tried that instead. It sounds weak compared to full deletion, I get it, and I rolled my eyes too at first, but the extra 4 or 5 seconds of swiping and searching kills the auto pilot reach for me. Six months in and my screen time dropped from 4 hours a day to about 50 minutes, way better than anything full deletion ever did for me. Has anyone else had luck with just making apps annoying to open instead of getting rid of them completely?
Noticed this same thing works with junk food too, like if the cookies are on the top shelf behind stuff I actually have to work for them. Making things a little harder to get to does way more than willpower ever will. Your folder trick is basically the same idea and it clearly worked for you.
