Switched from watching new shows weekly to waiting for full seasons to drop

I used to watch shows as they aired, one episode a week, and it drove me crazy with the waiting. About a year ago, I decided to wait until a full season was out on Netflix before starting anything. Now I can watch 8 episodes of a show like The Diplomat in one weekend without forgetting what happened. The pacing feels so much better when you dont have gaps between episodes. Has anyone else made this switch and found it ruined their ability to go back to weekly releases?

It's just TV shows though, not like you're committing to a 12 step program. People act like waiting a week between episodes is some kind of torture when we used to wait months for new seasons back in the day. Binging everything at once makes it harder to actually appreciate the details or have any suspense between episodes. Don't get me wrong, I'll binge stuff too, but I can still handle a weekly release just fine. Does it really mess with your enjoyment that much to have to wait seven days for the next episode?

Binge watching kills the anticipation that makes good television worth watching week to week.
