Spent $28 on a silicone baking mat and my cookies finally stop spreading
I used to go through parchment paper every single batch and still got flat, greasy discs, but this mat from the kitchen supply store near the hospital has changed everything for me. Has anyone else found that one cheap tool that fixed a problem you'd been fighting for years?
My grandmother's cast iron skillet did the same thing for me after years of burnt cornbread, so I get the joy of a cheap fix that actually works. Twenty eight dollars is nothing compared to the money you were throwing away on parchment. Now you just have to figure out what to do with all that free time you used to spend scraping cookies off a pan.
