Plumber quote was double what the small guy charged in Decatur

My kitchen sink backed up last Tuesday, so I called the big chain and they quoted $450 just to snake it. A neighbor suggested a solo plumber out of Decatur who came the next morning for $180 and had it cleared in 40 minutes. Same service, but one guy did the work himself instead of sending a crew with a sales pitch. Anyone else found that the smaller local outfits beat the branded companies on price and speed around here?

The solo plumber BS is real, that $450 quote was such a rip-off.

Think about what the job actually included, @jesse_burns8, since parts alone can push a simple visit past $200.
