Paid $140 for a same-day AC repair and still sweated through Tuesday night

Tech showed up 2 hours late, said the compressor was fine, charged me for a cleaning, and my unit shut down again at 3AM, anyone else get burned by those "emergency" HVAC rates in Decatur?

Man, that brings back memories of when my buddy paid the "after hours" rate for a plumber in Brookhaven. Dude showed up, stared at the water heater for ten minutes, hit it with a wrench, and charged $200. It worked for like a week, then quit again. Turns out the pilot light was just being finicky and the guy knew it. Your AC story is worse though, at least my buddy got a show with his ripoff. Getting charged extra just to still sweat sounds like a special kind of torture. I hope the next tech you call actually knows what they're doing and doesn't just sell you a filter with a fancy name.
