Wasted $80 on a cheap pole pruner that snapped on the third branch
I bought a no-name pole pruner off Amazon last spring thinking I was saving money over the Fiskars ones I saw at Lowe's. It lasted maybe 20 minutes before the fiberglass handle cracked while I was trimming a dead oak branch in my neighbor's yard. Has anyone else had luck with the cheaper brands or is it just not worth the gamble?

...and thats EXACTLY what happened to me too. I swear these cheap pole pruners are made from the weakest fiberglass they can find. I mean, you look at them on Amazon and they look fine, but one good twist on a stubborn branch and SNAP. Total waste of money. I even tried to return it but the seller ghosted me. Now I stick with Fiskars because they actually stand behind their stuff. Its not even about the price at that point, its about not having a useless pile of junk in your garage after one use.
