Had an old timer talk me out of pruning oak trees in summer
Ran into a retired guy at the supply yard last Thursday who told me about a job he messed up 30 years back by ignoring oak wilt season - lost a whole row of trees for a client. Kind of made me rethink my whole schedule, has anyone else shifted their timing based on something like that?

@finleyfox made a good point and that old timer's story really hits home. It's wild how one piece of advice from someone who messed up can totally change the way you look at something simple like cutting trees. Makes you wonder what other little rules we just fly past until someone pays the price for ignoring them.

That bit about losing a whole row of trees is a rough one. I read that oak wilt spreads fast in summer through fresh cuts, so waiting until fall or winter is the safe bet.
