Honestly, people keep saying you need a fancy bin with filters, but my setup is just two old paint buckets from Home Depot and it works fine.

Fancy gear is just for showing off" is the truest thing I've read all week, my compost pile is basically just a hole in the ground.

Right? Why do people make this so complicated? I've been using a big plastic storage tote with some holes drilled in the lid for YEARS. It cost maybe five bucks and works perfectly. Fancy gear is just for showing off sometimes.

Oh man, I feel called out. My "system" is just a busted laundry basket I keep behind the shed. It looks like a raccoon's crash pad, but the plants don't seem to mind. I guess I spent all my good sense on seeds instead of bins.
