Dang, I gotta push back a little here. I had a buddy who did this exact thing for his old fridge, followed the same steps, and the compressor was totally fine until it just quit on him six months later. He ended up having to trash the whole fridge because the compressor went bad, and he coulda saved the headache if he'd just tested it properly upfront. Wow, that's a huge difference and not surprising at all. What nobody talks about is how those concrete barriers actually change driver behavior even when you're not in the lane. When I'm riding on a protected lane like Park Avenue, drivers seem less stressed and more patient overall, maybe because they know there's no chance I'll swerve into them. But on a painted gutter, drivers treat it like a suggestion and get mad if you even slow them down. The concrete dividers force them to accept that bikes belong there, plain and simple. It changes the whole vibe of the street for everyone, not just cyclists.

My buddy Mike ran into the same thing last year in a kitchen reno. He used push connectors on some can lights and three months later the homeowner called him back saying two lights were dead. Pulled them out and the plastic was actually cracked on one of them, which let moisture get in. He switched to Wagos and said it was the best 10 bucks he ever spent on a job. Told me he learned his lesson the hard way and now only uses Wagos for anything that gets even a little bit of heat or humidity. Really makes you wonder why builders still use those push things in places like bathrooms.
