Totally get where you're coming from. The whole "save it for later" thing feels like a luxury we don't have anymore. Pompeii comes to mind, the parts that are still buried are just rotting from all the water and tourists.

My last kitchen gig in 2022 still had a guy who called it a piano. That old slang isn't gone, it just moved to the good places that pay enough to keep people.

Well that's the whole point, @richard_kelly54. If you're just racing to the end you miss everything. The trail isn't a checklist, it's the thing itself. Some of us actually like being out there.

Ever see someone try to clean a find with a wire brush? I mean, watching someone scrub at a coin or a piece of pottery with one of those is just painful. The scratches are permanent and it can strip away any surviving surface detail.
