inJust realized the city's new watering rule changed our oak tree's health in one year.
Has anyone checked if the rule changed what people are planting? My neighbor gave up on her flower beds and put in native shrubs that don't need extra water. Maybe the oak got better because the grass around it is weaker now, so it's not fighting for every drop.

inQuestion about those 'networking is everything' people
No way lol. That's how it always works though. The small stuff you do without thinking ends up mattering the most. Like holding a door for someone and they turn out to be your new neighbor, or giving someone a charger and they later recommend you for a gig. Just doing a decent thing opens doors you never see coming.

inMy regular at the farmers market told me my $4 croissants were 'too perfect' to be hand-laminated.
I used to want perfect layers but now I see the charm in a little irregularity.

inUpdate: I tried using a 4G cellular module as the primary connection on a residential job
Yeah, hitting the data cap from video clips is the big catch. I had to go in and really dial down the motion sensitivity and clip length on all the cameras. Setting them to only record during certain hours helped a ton too.

Always thought that was an old wives' tale, but it actually works.
