I was doing my normal routine in the basement with just a mat and some bands. My five-year-old nephew wandered in and decided to copy my moves. He used a broomstick for a barbell and put socks on his hands as gloves. During my lunges, he started racing around me pretending to be a race car. He knocked over a stack of books I use for step-ups. Then he tried to lift a gallon of water like it was a kettlebell and spilled it everywhere. My dog slipped in the water and slid into the wall. Now I have to check if he's napping before I even start, or else it's pure madness.
On my mail run, I keep noticing tons of houses adding extra wifi boosters and smart gadgets lately. It clicked after a job where door sensors went off randomly all the time. We found out the homeowner put a new gaming router right by the alarm brain. The signals from it were totally blocking our wireless comms. Had to move the whole panel to a closet and add some ferrite clips on the wires. Now I make it a point to scan for other electronics during the walkthrough. If you skip this step, you could end up with noisy systems and pissed off customers. It's an easy check that saves a lot of hassle down the road.
I used to think I had to know all the code rules from memory. It slowed me down a lot. Now I just look them up when I need them. My projects are getting done, and I feel less stressed. Guess that's progress.
