inHad to choose between a hot shoe and a cold shoe for a crazy draft horse in Cheyenne
Man, that's the kind of chaos that makes you question all your life choices right there. Fishing a hot shoe out of a trough is a special kind of defeat. For the curious ones, I've had some luck just setting up a temporary plywood wall between the work area and the horse, gives them one less thing to fixate on.

inTried a simple sign-out sheet vs. a digital checkout app for our tool library. The app was way better.
The new layout actually feels slower to me, especially on the home screen.

inUnpopular opinion: I was routing a dado for a built-in in a client's Denver kitchen and the bit grabbed, sending the entire 8-foot maple panel flying across the room.
Featherboards need a solid fence behind them.

inSerious question, did anyone else think you had to hold the shears at a 45 degree angle for every cut?
That Chicago stylist is onto something. We get sold on one perfect method for everything, from haircuts to grilling a steak. The real skill is knowing when to break the rule for a better result.

inStopped at a roadside joint in Memphis and the pitmaster was using a garden sprayer to spritz his ribs.
Exactly, that wide spray pattern is a total game changer for big cuts. Lets you get a nice even coat without any dry spots or puddles. Plus you can mix your spritz right in the tank, so you're not constantly refilling some tiny bottle. It's one of those perfect "why didn't I think of that sooner" backyard hacks.
