Just hit 500 hours on my new Kirby helmet and it feels different than I thought it would.

I always figured the big milestones were about big jobs or depth, not just time on the gear. But hitting that 500 hour mark on this helmet, mostly doing inland bridge inspections around the Ohio River, made me notice all the little wear patterns and how the seal feels now. It's not broken in, it's just... mine. Has anyone else had a piece of kit hit a number that made you look at it differently?
