Menu anxiety is just a sign of deeper control issues, change my mind
Watching people stress over menus shows how scared we are of making wrong choices, lmao. It's all about control, not hunger.

Pretty sure my menu stress is just fear of everyone finding out I have the taste of a toddler. Now I always get the chicken fingers to save face.

You said we're scared of making wrong choices, lol. But what if it's less about control and more about performing for the people you're with? Like you're worried they'll judge your pick. Isn't that just social anxiety, not control?

Social anxiety explains my menu panic way better than wanting control. I once spent ten minutes pretending to read a wine list because I didn't want my date to know I only like sweet stuff. The fear of being seen as basic or dumb over a drink choice is real. It's all about the audience in your head grading your every move. I've even ordered salads I hated just to avoid the side eye from friends.
