Oh man, that zip tie trick is genius. It reminds me of the time my kid's backpack strap snapped right before school and I MacGyvered it back together with a black zip tie. Kid rocked that look for a whole semester, lol. Those little plastic things are secretly the most useful thing in the house. I've fixed like five different things with them this year alone.
