Had to choose between a classic bob or a textured shag for a nervous client last week

She came in with a photo of a blunt cut but kept touching her hair like she wanted more movement, so I suggested adding some layers for a softer feel. I went with the textured shag, using my 40/60 texturizing shears, and she loved how much lighter it felt. What's your go-to move when a client seems unsure between two very different styles?

Yeah, the "touching her hair like she wanted more movement" thing is a huge tell. I'll do a test snip on a bottom layer first to show them the weight difference.

A test snip on the bottom layer is GENIUS. You can actually see the weight drop without them freaking out. Some people get so scared of losing length, they don't realize how much better it could feel. Showing them that little piece is way more convincing than just talking about it. Total game changer for hesitant clients.
