PSA: A batch of 'cold blue' solution from a vendor in Phoenix turned a customer's barrel purple.
I used it on a 1911 slide last Tuesday, followed the instructions exactly. The metal came out with a deep purple tint instead of the usual black. Anyone know what causes this reaction with certain steels?
