After three failed orders, I'm done trusting parts kits to be complete.

I used to think grabbing a parts kit for a rebuild was the easy way out, you know, to save some hassle. But last week, I opened a kit for a common pistol, and the ejector rod was just not there. This meant putting a client's project on hold while I hunted for the part online. It's not the first time, a similar thing happened with a rifle kit missing a tiny detent spring. The real kicker is how it messes with your schedule and reputation. My big realization? These kits are often just bins of leftover bits thrown together. Now, I make a list and buy each piece from suppliers I've tested myself. It takes more time to order, but the job gets done right the first time. (And I sleep better at night, for what that's worth.)

Yeah @jessem68, I used to swear by kits but NOT after three fails.

Totally get that. It's like every 'easy' kit ends up wasting your time when parts are missing, same with stuff like bike repair sets.
