Saw some incredible hand-painted signage at a diner in Akron

The whole menu board was done in this perfect mid-century style with custom lettering and little illustrations of the food. It made the whole place feel special, not just generic. Where do you guys find inspiration for typography that has that much personality?

Honestly that sounds cool but I feel like it's a trap. That super custom stuff looks amazing in photos but it locks the business in forever. What if they need to change a price or add a new item? It's not practical at all. I get my inspo from stuff that actually works in the real world, not just what looks pretty for the 'gram.
