A client in Phoenix told me my color palettes felt too safe and corporate.

They said 'try picking one color you hate and building from there,' which forced me to actually use a mustard yellow I'd avoided for years, and the whole project got way more interesting.

I mean, it's just a color, right? Mustard yellow made a project more interesting, but it's not like it changed the world. People get so deep about these design choices. It's a website or a brochure, not a revolution. Sometimes a safe color just gets the job done without all the fuss.
