People are way too scared of using a bigger torch tip for basic gathers
I see folks struggling for 20 minutes to get a decent gather on a 25mm tube with a #3 tip. Switched to a #5 on my Carlisle CC for that size years ago and it cut my prep time in half. Anyone else think we overcomplicate torch selection for simple tasks?
Wasted gas? Are you heating the whole shop or just the glass? A number five tip on a CC is still a tiny flame for that size tube. How much gas could you really be wasting compared to twenty extra minutes of fuel burning with a small tip?
