My new 'heat-resistant' gloves melted during a big gather

I grabbed them from a vendor at a craft fair for $45, but the first time I reached for a heavy gather, the thumb seam split and the material bubbled. What's a reliable glove brand you've actually put through the wringer?

Watched my buddy's cheap gloves do the same thing last winter.

Did you see what kind of wear he was putting them through? Sometimes a cheap pair is fine for quick trips, but they just can't handle real work or long days outside. I've had expensive gloves fall apart fast and cheap ones last years, it really depends on the build. The price tag doesn't always tell the whole story.
