Warning: My laser level for hanging pictures totally messed up my decor project!

I was so excited to use a new laser level I bought after seeing great reviews online for my gallery wall makeover. The ads said it would make everything straight and simple with no guesswork. But when I lined it up, the laser was a bit off, and all my frames ended up crooked on the wall. My partner laughed and said we should have stuck with a basic level and a measuring tape like always. Now I'm debating if gadget reviews for home tools are really trustworthy or if they just hype up new stuff. Some people I know love these high-tech helpers for jobs like this, but others think they're just a waste of money. What's your take? Have you ever relied on a gadget review for a home project and been let down?

Actually my laser level SAVED my last gallery wall, it was perfect for getting that first straight line. Sometimes if the wall itself isn't flat or you bump the unit, it can seem off. I always double check with a regular level on the first frame, but after that the laser is a total game changer for speed.

Wait, you trust the laser level enough to hang everything else after just one check? My last one was so far off after I nudged the table that I had three pictures in a gentle slope before I noticed. The wall in my old apartment wasn't just uneven, it was basically wavy, and the laser line just lied right to my face. I feel like I'd be re-checking every single frame out of pure suspicion.
