Picking up a free dresser in Tacoma taught me to always check the drawers first
I grabbed a solid wood one from a curb alert, but the bottom drawer was stuck shut with something sticky inside. My friend got a similar free piece the same week, and she just asked the giver 'any issues with the drawers?' over text before heading over. That one was perfect. Anyone else have a simple question they ask before driving out for free stuff?

That "simple question before heading over" thing is so smart. I see it all the time with people selling stuff online, they'll leave out one key detail that makes the trip a waste. Like saying a table is "ready to use" but not mentioning the wobbly leg you have to see to believe.

Ugh, I actually hate that move. It feels so sneaky. I'd rather someone just be honest and say "table works but one leg is loose" right in the ad. That "simple question" trick just makes me think they're hiding ten other things. It wastes everyone's time.
