After my friend got shocked from a free toaster, I'm really rethinking how we handle free item posts!

My local Buy Nothing group has a four-item rule for free posts. Everyone has to list at least one real flaw, like "toaster handle is cracked" or "couch leg is wobbly." It stops people from dumping completely broken stuff. We also require a clear photo of the actual item, not a stock image. It cut down on complaints by a lot.

Guess @alice_adams57's group turned flaw confession into a community sport.

Used to think mandatory flaw lists were just extra rules for no reason, but that toaster story makes total sense now. Keeps people from offloading actual hazards.
