Spent two full shifts trying to get a clean pour on a new bronze alloy for a custom gate. The heat curve was way off from what the spec sheet said.

Oh man, spec sheets can be such a lie sometimes. Had the same thing happen with a silicon bronze last year, the stuff just would not flow right. Took three tries and a lot of wasted metal to finally get the temp dialed in.

That reminds me of the time a friend bought "easy pour" concrete mix for a small patio. The bag made it sound like you just add water and it flows like pancake batter. Ended up with a lumpy mess that set up way too fast, basically a permanent rock garden. Makes you wonder what the test conditions are for these spec sheets, @parker_patel84. Probably some perfect lab with a guy who has been doing nothing but pouring that one material for 30 years. Real world conditions never seem to match up.
