Tried using leftover pineapple juice in the flower water for a tropical arrangement last week, the stems got slimy in like two days

Mine lasted a week, maybe it was the flower type?

Check the water first, that's usually the culprit. Change it every other day and cut the stems again at an angle. Keep them away from direct sun and fruit bowls (the gas fruit gives off makes them wilt faster). Flower type matters a little, but good care makes most store-bought bouquets last.
