Ditched the foam brick for a wet floral foam cage and my arrangements actually last now

I spent 6 months using those cheap green foam bricks for my weekly shop orders because they were half the price. Kept getting calls on day 3 saying the hydrangeas were droopy. Switched to the Oasis cages with the built-in water reservoir last month and paid $4 more per arrangement. Not a single complaint since. Has anyone else noticed that the cheap foam just doesn't hold water past 48 hours?

lol man I feel your pain. I went through the exact same thing last year with those cheap bricks, kept wondering why my roses looked like they'd been through a drought by day two. Finally bit the bullet on the Oasis cage things and it's night and day, those hydrangeas actually stay perky for a full week now. Such a stupid little thing that makes a huge difference.

Funny how that works with gardening stuff but its the same with so many things. Had a similar moment with kitchen knives, bought some cheap set and wondered why everything was so hard to chop. Upgraded to one decent chef's knife and suddenly cooking is actually fun. It's like we all gotta waste money on the bad version first before we learn. Makes you wonder how many other little upgrades could make life easier but we just never think about them till we're frustrated.
