Question about using a heat gun on vinyl plank in a cold garage
My old boss in Denver always told me to let the boxes sit in the room for 48 hours before installing, but last winter I had a rush job in an unheated garage. Another installer said to just use a heat gun on the planks as I went, so I tried it. The floor buckled in two spots after a month, and now I'm wondering if anyone has a better fix for cold subfloors.

Oh man, the "heat gun as you go" method. I tried that once on a sunroom and ended up with a floor that looked like a tiny mountain range. I think the heat gun warms the top layer way faster than the core, so it expands weird and then the whole thing just gives up later. That rush job pressure is real though. What did you end up doing to fix the two buckled spots?

Ever try the cold pack trick instead?
