Question about greasing a bottom bracket

For years I just slapped grease on the threads, but a video from Park Tool showed you need to coat the inside of the shell too. Anyone else miss that step for a long time?

Wait, that video's about pressing bearings. For a threaded bracket, grease on the threads is actually the main thing.

Park Tool's video makes a good point about coating the shell for corrosion protection. Grease on the threads alone can leave the frame's inside bare metal, @the_jordan. It's cheap insurance against a seized bracket later.
