I thought chain wax was just a gimmick for roadies

For years I just used wet lube and wiped off the extra, thinking wax was too much work. Then my buddy in Denver, who rides year round, showed me his drivetrain after 200 miles on wax. It was still clean, no black gunk at all. I tried it on my gravel bike for a month and the shifting is way smoother, plus my pants stay clean. The initial strip was a pain, but now a quick dip in hot wax every few weeks is easier than dealing with a dirty chain. Anyone else make the switch and have tips for making the first clean out faster?

Ultrasonic cleaner brand you'd recommend?

Oh man, I was the same way! I put off trying wax for so long because I thought you needed a full science lab setup. My first strip took forever, I used like a whole bottle of degreaser and a toothbrush like a total goof. The secret I found is just use the simple green stuff and a cheap ultrasonic cleaner from the hardware store. It cuts the time in half, no joke. Now I just do it while watching a dumb show and it's no big deal.
