Everyone says you need a special tool to adjust a cup and cone hub, but I fixed mine with a 17mm socket and a pair of pliers.

Ever get that satisfying click when the locknut finally bites? Just gotta make sure your cone isn't chewing up the bearings after a rough fix like that.
